Spending Moolah..

I feel this blog post is sort of late due to the fact I bought this all a week ago. I kind of got excited with trying to blog about my first Mac purchase, I kinda forgot to show you the rest! For my friends birthday, we all took a trip in to Limerick and had a looksie around the shops and I ended up buying some things. I didn't buy that much but I thought I'd show you and I hope you enjoy.

The first place we went was Penneys (Primark). Let me just say, I was so disapointed! I was battling with my self all morning trying to decide whether to buy make up or clothes (this may sound weird but I get excited and only spurge on either make up or clothes. I get way too excited in the first shop I go into. I have no self control) and as soon as I went inside I saw NOTHING I wanted. This is unbelievabley rare. It wasn't just me. My friends couldn't see much either. The selection of clothes was horrible. I'm really disapointed thaat I didn't get any clothing but oh well I still got some nice things. I picked up some Batiste Dry Shampoo which I just couldn't leave. I'd been using Tresemme Dry Shampoo before that but I missed the volume and messy look that you achieve with Batiste.I was also in need of a small but spacious make up bag that I could keep in either my school bag or hand bag and I found this really cute navy one with roses on it and I just thought it was too cute to leave. I then picked up these really nice black sunglasses. I have a pair that are kind of the same style except their pink and floral and I've noticed in passing weeks they go with nothing. So, I got these black ones as the sun has made an appearance here in Ireland recently and they seem to go with everything. Now, at this point, I didn't think I was going to buy anything else and I made my way to the till. However, I got sucked into the impulse buyers section. For anyone that doesn't know what I'm talking about, I mean that long shelf that runs parallel to the queue for the till. The pretty colours catch your eye and you get way too excited and your debating whether or not to buy it but then the queue is moving and you don't want to hold up the line and it all becomes too much! That's when people like me snap and buy something! This is where I bought my little pot of Carmex and fluffy socks. You all know how much I love Carmex lip balm and I didn't have it in the pot form. Although in the heat of the moment, I accidentally bought cherry flavour. I hate cherry's but that's what I get for impulse buying. I have no explanation for the fluffy socks. They looked soft so I bought them. End of story.

We then ventured in to Boots. Can I just say the Boots in Limerick City is shit. They have really bad selection and only have a few make up brands so we also went into the Boots in the Crescent Shopping Center which is way better. I first bought the Toni and Guy Cleanse and Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner for Damaged Hair. I love these. I bought mini bottles of these a few months back when I was going to Germany to sort of test out the band and I absolutely love them. They leave your hair feeling really soft and shiny and make your hair look really healthy. They also had a 3 for 2 on Toni and Guy products so I also picked up the Firm Hold Hairspray. Again, I had bought a mini one a few months back and loved it. I don't usually get excited by hairspray because I hate having rock hard hair and most hairsprays leave my hair feeling disgusting. But this one is nice as it doesn't make my hair feel crunchy but still feels like theirs something in my hair. I then bought my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. You all know I love this concealer so much, it's been mentioned on here before. The only flaw I had with this concealer was that the lightest shade was too dark for my skin. However, they have now changed around the shades so I picked up the shade 1 which is fair. This matches my skin perfectly! I don't know if they just renamed the shades but I'm almost positive they developed a lighter shade. Thank God! While I was there, I also picked up a Revlon Lip Butter in the shade Tutti Frutti. I heard a lot of people raving about them and wanted to give them ago. For anyone that doesn't know what these are, they're pretty much a lip balm and lipstick in one. They are so moisturising but they are also really pigmented. I quite like blending these in with my fingers to make it look a bit more natural. The colour Tutti Frutti is also a really pretty orange and I'd recommend the lip butters to anyone that likes a bit of colour but isn't quite confident enough to wear a lipstick.

We then popped into H&M. As it's my brothers communion in a week, I was on the look out for a nice dress. My friend spotted this and told me I had to try it on. It usually wouldn't be my style but when I tried it on, I fell in love with it. I feel like it suited my figure really well and I love the dip at the back. It may look really boring but with some accessories I think it will look really nice. It's a plain grey skater dress with tiny black horizontal lines on it. I'm gonna blog me wearing it soon so keep an eye out.

So that's everything I bought. I hope you enjoyed! Also leave me a comment telling me what I should wear with the dress as I'm really bad at accessorizing. That t'would be helpful!

Toodle Pip!

Questions and Answers

Hey Guys!
So, today I was in the mood to do a fun and silly blog post. I've seen this post done on other peoples blogs and it looks like a lot of fun. Basically, here are some questions that I've seen other people answer in their blogs and I am going to answer them for you. I love reading these kind of posts and it gives you a chance to learn a bit more about me. So, if your nosy like me, I hope you find this post enjoyable!

Just to prepare you, this blog post will probably be very long. Apologies in advance. I just didn't wanna leave any questions out and I wanted them all in one post. Now that that's out of the way, lets move on to the questions.

Moi ...

Do you have any siblings?
Yes, I have two brothers, one is 18 and the other is 8.

If so, are ye close?
My older brother and I didn't get on as kids but are really close now. We have the same kind of humour and just get on really well. I'm sure he'll make an appearance on here soon!(P.S. He claims he looks like Casey Braxton ladies...) My little brother and I are really close too, simply because we are both completely mad!

What's your top/dress size?

 I am UK size 8/10

Do you have any diet plans/tips?

Not really. I am probably the most unhealthy person in the world! I feel I'm being slightly hypocritical talking about diet tips when I am currently eating a cookie.. Try eat a bit of everything and try to exercise regularly. Also, don't get hung up on how much you weigh as long as you are healthy and happy.

Do you workout?

Pfft no! I really should but I'm lazy.. I am going to try a bit harder though to exercise when I can.

Who inspires you?

So many people! I can't think of just one. I love Marilyn Monroe though. Regular people that I meet everyday inspire me too.

What do you value most in life?

Wow. Deep. People who love and care about me, I suppose.

What do you do?
I am in school, about to do Transition year. I am going to be doing my Junior Certificate in a few months. I currently don't have a job and never have but I really want one for the summer.

What is your dream job?
Anything that involves make up or beauty.

Do you make good grades?

Ya..... I like to think I'm naturally quite bright but I do struggle sometimes.

What is your ethnicity?

100% Irish.

Do you want to get married later on in life?

Ya but I'd have to know the person really well. I don't think I'm the kind of girl that will get married young.

Do you have any phobias?

Dolls. I'm not talking Barbie dolls because I played with them as a kid. I'm talking about those creepy china dolls with porcelain skin and ringlet hair. They so CREEPY! They just really freak me out. Don't even know why. Does that count as a phobia? I googled. Apparently, I have Pediophobia. I wouldn't say it's a full blown phobia but it's awfully close to one.

Have you ever had a near death experience?

I don't think so. I've never had a serious disease or any broken bones. I once fell out of a tree...that was pretty scary..

Do you get mad easily?

Yes! I have such a short fuse! I can't help it. I've never been in a fight or anything but people easily annoy me...sorry.

Where have you been on holiday & where was the best?

Wales, Majorca, Spain ... I went to these places when I was a kid so I don't really remember that much. I also went to Germany on a German exchange in October which was great. The best holiday was probably the one to Majorca.

Favourite childhood memory?
I've loads. My family often has movie nights where we just pick a film and get loads of sweets and all watch together. They were great. Also the holiday to Majorca.

Do you drink juice?
I love juice!!

How old are you?

I am 15 and my birthday was the 17th of April

What's your height?
I am 5' 1" (and I'm pretty sure I've stopped growing..)

Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have one dog called Marley who I love to bits! He is part bearded collie/English sheep dog/Irish wolfhound. I love that he is unique. He is so fluffy!

What do you do in your spare time? Sleep. Boring, I know. I like spending time with friends and family and I am addicted to You Tube.

What do you feel you have achieved recently?
Well, recently, I had to have an interview with a teacher in my school to see if I could do Transition Year. Transition Year is a year you do where you learn new things and do work experience and a school musical and stuff like that. It's pretty much a break of a year before you start your Leaving Certificate Cycle. It's an option year and you have to be interviewed to see why you want to do it. This may be seen as a small thing but I'm really happy with how it went and I was petrified. It took a lot of guts and I think I handled the situation well. Yay!

What is your favourite subject?
English and Home Economics

What are your annoying habits?
I didn't really know what to say so I asked my older brother.. He said
 1. I always rob his earphones
2. I have a very harsh laugh
3. I eat all the nice food in the house
4. I'm very forgetful
5. I am flakey

It's a mousy brown colour that used to go blonde in summer. It hasn't been this colour since I was 12. I might do a blog post showing my hair history so tell me if you want to see that in the comments.

What are your views on plastic surgery?

Well I don't think I would ever do it myself but if you want to and it'll make you happy, go for it. I do think natural beauty is way more important but if it'll boost your confidence then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Although some people take it way too far...

If makeup somehow wasn't invented, what would you replace it with?

Oh god! I can't even think about that! I'm not trying to sound superficial but I just love being creative with make up. I don't wear make up everyday so I probably could survive but I'd probably be way more in to fashion.

Do you bite your nails?

No. My nails are quite long and I'm quite weird about making sure they look nice. I hate the sensation of biting them and it drives me mad when other people bite their nails.

First Ever Mac Purchase

As some of you may know, yesterday, me and a few friends took the bus in to Limerick and spent the day shopping. When we were there, we went to Brown Thomas which is, for anyone that doesn't know it, a huge department store that sells many different expensive brands of make up. My friend was going to do that thing where you bring in 6 empty foundation bottles and get a free lipstick. As soon as we walked in the door, I got way too excited.

As I spend most of my time watching beauty You Tuber's and reading beauty blogs, I instantly saw about 7 things that I wanted to buy from all different brands. This overwhelmed me a bit. I then immediately decided I HAD to buy something. Then I was hit by the fact that, if I wanted to buy something, I would have to ASK for it off someone who worked there. This, in my mind, was terrifying. I don't know about you but I feel really awkward in these situations. It's not as if you can just pick up the thing you want and go straight to the till. Everything is on stands and you can swatch things if you like but in order to buy it, you have to ask someone who works there. This scared me for a number of reasons ; 1. I didn't want to come across as a little girl who knew nothing about make up. 2. I didn't want to bother the ladies who worked there and 3. Seeing as I have never bought any high end make up, I didn't really know how the process worked.

At this point, I had already decided that I wanted to buy the Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation. I could afford it and I'd read a few blog posts that had raved about how good it was. That part was easy. Now I had to work out what shade I was.

I frantically started picking up bottles and searching for where it said the shade. This took me a good few minutes. Seeing as I'm freakishly pale, I wanted to make sure the shade was light enough. When I found what I thought was the lightest shade, a woman approached me and asked did I need any help. I then just thought "Ok, this is silly, just let her help you pick the right shade."

Well, I'm so glad I did. The woman was so helpful and really lovely. She started telling me stuff about the foundation and helped me find the right shade. She also swatched a bit on my hand and offered to apply it to my whole face. As I was on a tight schedule and already had a full face of make up on, I politely declined. We also came to the conclusion that I should get NW15 because of my "fair skin tone". She was so nice and didn't make me feel stupid or insignificant at all.

I thought I'd share this little moment with you as, firstly, this is a big deal for me. I bought my first Mac product. This, in my opinion, is something I'll remember for ages and is, hopefully, the first of many trips to Brown Thomas. Secondly, I think my experience will help other girls who, like me, love make up but aren't used to buying these expensive brands. I am also glad that I can now go in to places like Brown Thomas and buy high end make up without feeling scared.

I haven't even tried the foundation yet. I got it yesterday but my foundation brush was dirty and I was not going to apply Mac foundation with a dirty brush! I am not that kind of girl. So, my foundation brush is now drying nicely and I shall try the foundation tomorrow. I can't wait! It looks so pretty!

So, that's it from me. Tell me in the comments if you ever experienced these kinds of situations or if you found this post in anyway helpful. Also, feel free to follow my blog. Would mean a lot. I'm gonna do a post showing the other stuff I got as well. Hope you enjoyed. Bye! x

I Bought Stuff..

Sorry bout the crap title but it's late and I'm tired and the creative juices just aren't flowing! I promise the future blog titles will be much more appealing.

I feel like this blog post is slightly late as I bought this stuff last Friday. My brother and I were home alone for the day "studying" and we, somehow, ended up in Tesco. Some items were purchased. I bought mostly cosmetic-y stuff and he bought hair gel and fruit gums. I will admit he bought most of this for me (thanks bruv!) I'm still in that stage of my life where I always seem to have no money and he's the one who is making the dough. But that's what big brothers are for!I just remembered he took these pictures as well... I was taking them in his room and he was complaining my pictures weren't "arty" enough. He got very excited and kept changing the lighting and angles.. anyway... I thought I'd share with you some of the things I bought as I've been seriously loving them.

The first thing I bought was the Tresemmé Instant Refresh Volumising Dry Shampoo. I haven't used a dry shampoo in months so I felt it was just time. This dry shampoo leaves your hair quite soft and silky looking plus it's invisible which is a nice break from trying to rub out the white in your hair when using batiste dry shampoo. However, it doesn't give much volume. Bit disappointed by that but it has other quality's that make up for that.

I then bought my Nivea Double Effect aAntiperspirant. Ya, it's good. Don't really have much to say about this. It's my favourite antiperspirant. Don't really know why but it just works really well. Keeps my sweat at bay. Sexy, I know.

I then stumbled upon this little brand that I didn't even know existed. I was rooting through the creams and I found the Pro Formula Radiance Hot Cloth Cleanser. I instantly bought it. I heard many a beauty blogger raving about the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser but sadly that is out of my price range . so I was more than overjoyed when I saw this as I didn't even know you could get a good, cheap hot cloth cleanser. I love this so much! It just removes all your make up and it leaves my skin feeling lovely. Have to admit, it's a weird feeling when I first tried it. For anyone that doesn't know what a hot cloth cleanser is, it's a cream you put all over a dry face with a full face of make up on and then you wipe your face with a damp muslin cloth (which is provided with the cream) and it takes off all your make up including your eye make up. It's brilliant. I have been using this everyday and I simply love it. Also, this pick is pretty cool isn't it? My brother got really into taking these photos...

This trip to Tesco seems to have been very skin related and also involved me buying dupes for expensive brands. Great. I came across this Micellar Water form Garnier and, again, instantly bought it. I don't know if you can tell already but I am extremely lazy and I like things that get rid of my make up in one go. This Micellar water removes all your make up in one go and cleanses your skin at the same time. If I'm tired and don't want to remove my make up with the hot cloth cleanser, I'll just use this instead. It feels really nice on your skin because it doesn't feel like its full of a load of chemicals. It literally just feels like your removing your make up with water which I must say, is a lovely feeling. It doesn't remove my make up as well as the cleanser above but it's nice if you don't have loads of make up on and you want something quick and effective.

I then bought these two nail varnishes from Maybelline New York. The colours are so PRETTY! I got them in the shades "Orange Couture" and "Lilac Charm". I've get many compliments when wearing these nail varnishes. They've also lasted really well on my nails. Highly recommend!

So, I hope you guys enjoy seeing what I bought on my little brother-sister bonding trip. Sounds sappy but it was great craic! I know I didn't buy anything particular exciting but I thought some of ye might enjoy seeing what I got. Tell me in the comments if you try'd any of these products as I'd love to hear your opinions. Also, it would be great if you followed my blog, the option is there on the right of the page. 'preciate it! See you guys soon. Bye!

6 Products I Can't Live Without

Hey Guys! I haven't blogged in a full month!I've just had such a crazy month, I really haven't had the time to blog. But don't worry guys, I'm back! I missed you!(hugs computer).

Do you ever have that one product in your make up bag that never changes? No matter how many products you buy and use, you always find yourself going back to your old favourite? I've seen this post on a few blogs and I thought I'd give it a whirl. I have basically chosen my favourite 6 beauty products that I will always have and will always repurchase. I found it a tad hard to pick 6 staple things that I constantly use and constantly repurchase over and over again. I'm always trying to branch out and try new things but these 6 things always find their way back into my life somehow. Some of these products were easy to choose but I will admit, I did find it difficult to find my 6. It's kind of a relief knowing that even though I may use a product everyday, I can easily manage without it if necessary.

from left to right

  • Maybelline "The Falsies" Mascara - Definitely my all time favourite mascara. It always leaves my lashes looking really long and volumised without being clumpy.
  • Nivea Day Cream for oily skin - I've rebought this cream so many times. This cream has made an appearance on my blog before but it leaves my skin feeling lovely and moisturized.
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 2 Cool Medium - The most amazing concealer you will ever use. It has amazing coverage and leaves my skin looking flawless.
  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent - Again I have lost track of how many times I've repurchased. It is simply amazing.
  • Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm - Best lip balm ever. Leaves my lips feeling all tingly and moisturised for ages.
  • Tangle Teezer - bit of a weird one but I really can't live without it. The best hairbrush in the world. It just brushes through my hair so easily even if my hairs full of knots. If you don't have one already, you are seriously missing out.

So I hope you guys enjoyed seeing the products I can't live without. Also please leave a comment telling me your favourite products too because I would be really interested to see what you love aswell. Hope you guys enjoyed.
 Bye!
