Make Up Wish List...

Hey Guys! I realise I haven't blogged in a while (sorry!). I think it's been a mixture of laziness and writers block. I also had a pretty crappy week and didn't want to do a blog post when I'm in a bad mood. Also, right now  my brother and I are supposed to be "studying"(I say studying but really I'm on the laptop and he's watching Sky Sports News..) It's an exam year for both of us and our Mocks/Pre's are in less than a week. For any of you who don't know what they are, they're state examinations that prepare us for our exams in June. Fun. Neither of us have really studied but we're pretty sure it will be fine...(types the girl writing a blog post instead of studying!)

January is by far the worst time of the year. Nobody has any money, all the Christmas cheer is gone, the weather is poopy and all the teachers are trying to freak you out about your upcoming tests. I'm so glad the month of February is almost upon us. I haven't done any blog's recently, simply because I have no money. I'm one of those people that when they get money they can't help but spend it all in one go on shiny things. It's very frustrating as I want to buy products to review for you guys but feel I should save and go for a proper shopping spree in a few weeks time. I know I already have a load of make up but my make up bag mostly consists of Rimmel London and Maybelline New York. This is due to the fact my nearest boots is a half an hour away and these are the only brands you can get in my town. I don't wanna just ramble on about products you've seen on my blog already. That would get boring.

So that's why, instead of spending money, that I don't have, on make up from my hometown just to make a blog post, I'm just going to share with you the make up that I desperately want and hopefully will one day get. Then I can look back on this post in a few years time and say "Oh I remember those days when I couldn't afford any make up " Also this may be beneficial to you, so you can see some make up you've never seen and may want to get. Fair warning, this is all going to be designer make up that I've wanted for a while. My birthday is in April so who knows!

1. Mac Palette

Oh My God. Who wouldn't want one of these? (wails) There so pretty! The eye shadows have gotten so many good reviews and there are so many to choose from. The top picture is Tanya Burr's palette as I love the colours she chose for he palette and I've seen her use them in tutorials. All the colours are so gorgeous and the palette is so shiny and the colours....Ok I need to move on to the next product, this is getting me too excited...

2. Urban Decay Naked Palette

I'm afraid this entire blog post is just gonna be me wailing about how pretty everything is! Apologies in advance. This palette has just taken over the planet. SO many girls want this palette. Everyone seems to be going Gaga over the new one (which is the third one) but I would be perfectly happy with the first one. The colours are lovely and the palette is a great mixture of shimmer and mattes. I've seen so many YouTube tutorials using this palette and it can do a great smokey eye and a gorgeous neutral look.

3. Estee Lauder Raisins Palette

Ok, I love this thing. I know this is another eye shadow palette I want but I'm a real eye shadow girl. This duo consists of a champagne/pink base colour and a purple/red/brown colour that would be great for contouring in the crease. I want this so bad cause it seems like a nice change to an everyday brown smokey eye without being too different.

4. Mac Studio Sculpt Foundation

I've wanted a Mac foundation for quite some time now. My friend never shuts up about her's. This one, however, looks really promising. I've heard the coverage is good, it's hydrating and is a great foundation.

5. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

This foundation looks amazing. I do think that the Mac one will give a lot more coverage but this one looks great. It gives you good coverage but it's not as thick a consistency as the Mac foundations and still makes your skin look natural.

6. Nars Laguna Bronzer

I've heard this baby is incredible. It's so highly pigmented and is great for contouring. I don't think you can get Nars in Ireland so I'm gonna have to order it online but I think it would be great.

7. Benefit Blusher

I've wanted these for ages! First of all the packaging is adorable and like no other. Benefit is supposed to be great for blushers and there is so many shades to choose from. I don't really own any good quality blushers so I would love to get this soon.

8. Mac Mineralize Skin Finish

Ok, last one guys! This is basically a compact that can be used as a powder to perfect your make up throughout the day. I want one so bad! I've heard great things about this powder and hope I get it one day.

That was a longer blog post than I thought! I thought I'd mention a few things but Jaysus, I mentioned 8! I could continue talking about make up I'd love to get but these are the only things I really want at the moment and I will hopefully have one day! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and saw some products you like or you can relate to my craving for fancy make up! Leave me a comment below telling me your favourite designer brands or if you've tried any of these products before. Or more blog post ideas! Ok now I have to go study. I'll probably end up watching season 1 of House. Only started watching it recently and I'm obsessed   Bye!

Nivea Obsession Much...?

Lately, I have been a lot more obsessed with my skin. I don't know why! Maybe it's something to do with the New Year or something but I have just been taken care of my skin really well. Currently, all the products I'm using are Nivea. Nivea is a great brand and deserve more recognition. There products are super good so I thought I'd share with you, my current skincare routine.

Just think, after you apply your make up, a lot of bacteria develops on your skin throughout the day. Even if you think it doesn't, it definitely does. Then when you go home and use a baby wipe to get rid of your make up, there is still a lot of gunk left on your face. If you don't properly clean your skin, your face will still have loads of make up and bacteria left on it. Then the next day your applying more make up on top of that. If you keep doing this for a year, imagine the amount of bacteria that's on your skin.

Sorry if that freaked you out but it's for your own good!

I first remove all my make  up with my "Extra Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover". I know you probably shouldn't, as it's specifically  for your eyes, but oh well! I live life on the edge! It gets rid of my make up well and is really gentle on my skin. My skin is both oily and sensitive so whenever I put on anything on my face it goes bright red. This is extremely infuriating and makes it  hard to buy creams for my face. However, this remover is for all skin types and feels lovely on my skin.

I then go on to use the "2 In 1 Cleanser and Toner". It's really important to cleanse your skin as there is so much bacteria and dirt on your skin that you pick up everyday. You should cleanse your skin at least twice a day but once is fine. The toner then closes your pores after they have been cleansed. Personally, I don't really feel toner is necessary but its in the cleanser so what the hell.

The last thing I do is use my "Day Cream". I apologies right now because I bought this cream in Germany so you probably can't understand the front from my picture. I usually buy it in Tesco's here but I ran out when I was in Germany! This day cream is so good and leaves my skin feeling so soft. Day creams are basically a moisturiser with  built in SPF. You only need the smallest amount and it dries really quickly.

I hope this helped you in some way and made you want to take better care of your skin!Leave me a comment below telling me your favourite skincare products as I love finding new products to try. Bye!

Kate Moss Crazy ...

Ok I know I already did a post saying how much I love Rimmel London. But these Kate Moss lipsticks are so good they needed there own blog post. Kate Moss put out her own range of lipsticks, with Rimmel London,  a couple of months ago. Over the last few weeks, I have developed a little collection so I thought I'd share them with you. They're really cheap and great quality and I would highly recommend.

These lipstick come in loads of colours but these ones are definitely my favourite . I have a mini obsession with lipsticks for the last few months and have tried a few brands but these however are amazing. The colours so gorgeous and versatile. These are my personal favourite shades but they have loads to choose from. The colours I've got are...

  • 03 which is a nude
  • 101 which is a pale pink
  • 16 which is a bright coral pink
  • 110 which is a bright orange
  • 111 is a bright fire engine red
  • 107 is a dark berry red
I'm not gonna spend ages doing a big long post on how great these lipsticks are because they speak for themselves. Also it can get boring if I just sit here and ramble on using a bunch of "fancy and scientific" terms. I hope this post makes you wanna try these lipsticks and hopefully you enjoyed. Bye!

January Favorites

Sorry I haven't been blogging that much (it's been like a week and a half!). I recently realised how much I love blogging. I don't even now if there is anyone who enjoys reading it yet but I do now how much enjoyment I get from blogging. I feel so in control, like I can say whatever I want and I don't feel like a silly kid who thinks she knows everything about beauty. I love thinking about my next post and thinking of fresh ideas. Seeing as I have like NO hobbies/talents, I get fierce enjoyment out of this blog.

Wow just went off on a complete tangent...why do I always do that? If you look back at any of my blog posts, I'm pretty sure they all start off the same way. Me talking about something that has, in no way, anything to do about the blog itself. Oh well.

From a mixture of studying for my Junior Cert, doing homework, being in a no WiFi  house for nearly a week and the fact my dad refuses to get off the laptop for more than it takes to make a cup of coffee, I have been unable to blog. Didn't realise how much I missed it until I started typing the first words of this blog post.

Jesus, I did it again! I'm just too deep! I keep talking all sappy! I have yet to get to the point. Sorry if you find this annoying, I jut can't control it. Or maybe you can relate? Who Knows!?!

I got some really nice prezzies over Christmas. I will admit, got a few odd ones, but mostly they were all great! So I thought I'd share with you the ones that I not only like but fell desperately in love with and haven't stopped using..

I'm gonna try do this in some kind of order

  • candles
  • nail varnish
  • smelly things
  • kinda random

Candles

Ok well first thing you need to know about me is I love candles. If we are ever gonna form any kind of relationship, it must be understood how much I love candles! Seeing as many people know this fact, I got like 12! These are deffo my favs though.

The first is one off me dad. If any one gets my obsession about candles its my da. He bought me this lovely vanilla candle that I just adore. Its made by the company "Kinsale Candles" and it just smells devine!

The second candle I got I got from my best friend in this really cool set, which also included a bath foam. The scent is cherry blossom, oriental lily and lotus flower and it's the brand "Baylis & Harding". I am usually not adventures with candles and I just stick with the classics (vanilla or cinnamon) but I love this candle so much. It smells really nice and China-y ....that's the best way I can describe it... never been to china but I'm pretty sure it smells like this....awkward...

Nail varnish

I quite like my nails as there very long and kinda have a naturally nice shape. It's sorta in my genes (thanks mam!) so I constantly have nail polish on. My mother, understanding, this bought me two from Boots.

The first is Rimmel London "I love lasting finish" in 030 Double Decker red. When I first saw this shade, I wasn't mad about it (if I often wear red nail varnish, I feel I look sorta like a witch!) but I put it on the other day and loved it. I have it on as I am typing these very words. Aahh so pretty!

The second I was, again, apprehensive about. It's by Barry M and its in the shade D 343 .. It's basically a confetti nail varnish you put it on over a different nail varnish to give it some ..excitement I guess. I tried it out, wasn't quite sure, but I received so many complements! It looks so fancy and professional and I love it!

Smelly things

Sounds like an awful title but I couldn't think of anything else. You could argue that candles go under smelly thing but I mean it in a slightly different way.

The first is a body wash by "Soap and Glory" and it's called "Sugar Crush Energy Boosting Citrus Conditioning Fresh and Foamy Body Wash. Wow that's a mouth full! I got this a few months ago and seeing as I ran out, my mother bought me another one. It smells AMAZING! I cannot fathom how amazing it smells! Even my brother loves it! He's gonna be embarrassed I told you that but he literally thinks it's the greatest scent in the world. I have to agree. It smells like lemons and limes and brown sugar. Definitely  my fav scent from soap and glory!

The second is a perfume. I am very fussy with perfume's and, if I find one I like, I will use it for ages! I got this as a present last year and used it up by April, so my mother bought me it again! It's called Rebl Fleur and its by Rihanna. Don't be fooled and think just because I mentioned the Sugar Crush body wash earlier, that this perfume smells anything like it. It doesn't. It's the complete opposite. It's a lot more dark and musky. It smells like vanilla and roses and I just adore it!

Kinda random

This is my kinda random group of stuff I got that doesn't really fit any of the above categories but I love none the less.

The first is this lipstick by Revlon in the shade 477 Black Cherry. It is the nicest colour ever! It's so dark and is a beautiful dark purple. This is my first Revlon lipstick and I love them so much! They're  really mosturising but the colour is still so pigmented.

The second random thing is this Marilyn Monroe purse I got. I am obsessed with Marilyn Monroe. She is my idol. My mams boyfriend bought me this and its so cool!

Ok finally last random thing is my little jewelry dish that I got from my secret santa in school. This is the cutest thing in the world! I love it! I'm really in to little vintage things as I think they look adorable, so I was so happy when I got this. It's white and red and it says "to have and to hold" across the top. Too cute!

So that is everything I have been loving recently! Yay! Everything I got is so amazing and I'm really grateful for all the stuff I got. Comment below if you liked anything or tell me what you got for Christmas! Also follow me on Instagram. My name is kaylsie1704 . Think that's about it. Bye xx

New Year's Eve

I've wanted to go shopping with my friends ever since I got my Christmas holidays nearly two weeks. Before that even. It had been ages and I hadn't gotten within 50 feet of a Penney's (Primark) shop in a scarcely long time. Seeing as I had less than no money before Christmas, we decided to put it off till we had some real dough to spend. All our schedules where busy with the usual  post Christmas activity's, so we decided  the only day we were all free was New Years Eve. Let me just tell you right now, it was the most stressful shopping experience of my life. Enjoyable, sure, but stressful, none the less. SO many things went wrong.

Seeing as we are teenagers and "practically adults", we decided it would be a great idea to take the bus, as (we thought) we were independent enough to handle this responsibility. Plus none of our parents wanted to drive us. So it was decided, on Monday night that, two of  my best friends would get dropped at my house at half nine and we'd walk down to the bus stop and take the ten o' clock bus to Limerick City. This obviously didn't happen. There was no chance three teenage girls were ever gonna make a bus that early. If your a teen, that may possibly plan a shopping trip with chums in the future, please set a reasonable time to go. Otherwise you'll feel like your way behind schedule if you miss that set time.

So I woke at nine, took the quickest shower of my life, and tried to get ready as quick as possible. My hair was still soaking wet by the time one of my friends was at  the door. It was quarter to ten at this point and since my other friend hadn't arrived, we were positive we would miss the bus. My friend then came through the door, ten to ten, all smiles, asking were we ready yet. We then calmly explained there was no way in hell we would ever make this bus. She then went on to add the next bus wasn't for two hours. That changed things. We were going to make that bus.

Picture the scene, three nearly fifteen year old's, running through the streets, at two minutes to ten. We probably looked ridiculous! I should probably mention, I am the slowest walker (let alone runner!) to have ever lived. So while the other two were were a giant explosion of hopefulness and positivity, running as fast as they could, I was the negative one, speed walking halfway down the street. I still wanted to make the bus, obviously, but I was out of breath before I'd even reached the front gate! We finally arrived, 5 minutes late and slightly sweaty, to find the bus hadn't even arrived yet. Of course it hadn't. This was Ireland, nothing is every on time here ...

I've just realised, I've written four paragraphs on my shopping experience and I haven't even mentioned GETTING there yet. I'm still talking about how I reached the BUS. Apologies. We then managed to actually get ON the bus, after nearly getting on a bus that was headed for  Dublin airport (dodged a bullet!) After dealing with a rude, Twenty-Something year old bus driver (who obviously had hoped to be doing something else with his life instead of driving a public bus for a living), we were finally on our way!Yay!(Quick tip for the future, never, under any circumstances, try and apply make up on a bus. EVER. You will look like a clown. Just have patience and wait till you get to your stop. You'll thank me later.)

This bus journey was particularly exciting for me, simply because I love public transport. Weird I know but I do, none the less. It's just so much FUN! Anything from buses, trains, planes etc. I rarely went on them as a kid so theirs something I love about them. Thought I'd share that with you. Maybe you feel the same way. No? Understandable.

Just as the bus reached the station, it began to rain. And no it wasn't "slightly drizzling either". It was full on monsoon, "looks like you swam here!" rain. We decided to just go for it, as the nearest Penney's was a ten minute walk. We ran, while the entire time, my friend was complaining that some how, her hair was wetter than ours. We took shelter in Dunnes Stores for a while cause my friend thought we should all buy an umbrella together. We convinced her there was no need as we were already wet.

When we finally reached Penney's, it was great. Their were sales and we got some great bargains. My friend was being good and decided not to get much, so she became my personal shopper for the day. It was great, as she got me to try on stuff I would usually not take a second look at, that I ended up loving. I'm the kinda girl that is nearly always wearing black and lives in her disco pants (they go with Everything!). However, I actually ended up buying a shirt with a collar! My friends nearly passed out when I showed it to them (not that it looked bad, just because shirts SO aren't me!) Plus I got a skirt. Ya, a skirt! Again, not me, but it's so pretty and not too girly which makes it perfect. Just realised, I'm making myself sound like a tom-boy goth or something but I can assure you I'm not. I'm very girly when it comes to make up and beauty but I wouldn't be caught dead wearing pink and I only ever wear dresses for special occasions. No exception. I'm trying to expand my horizons...

We did some damage in Penney's

Even though I made a promise to myself to only get clothes as I have enough make up, somehow, I ended up at Boots. I get too excited in Boots. My friends like make up but they are no way as obsessed as me. So, naturally, they made fun of me the whole time we were there. They found it hilarious that I just knew my way around and I kept picking up stuff I wanted. My friends then went on to tell me "You do realise you have no money left, right?" I don't want you to think they said it in a bitchy way. They didn't. They said it as if they were talking to a young child or a mental patient of some sort. Which in some ways is worse. That's when I took out my Boots advantage card (I was prepared for situations like this). I ended up buying a Barry M nail varnish that I fell in love with.

The view from our booth in McDonald's

After browsing the shops for a bit, we went to McDonald's and collapsed in a booth upstairs . We spent our last few coins on lunch (don't worry we had return bus tickets!) and stayed there for about half an hour before we left for the bus station. It was only half one at this point, even though we planned to stay till four (see what I mean about being realistic!). Our bus wasn't till two but it was good we left early as we got lost! We reached the bus just in time (after nearly missing our second bus of the day..) and this time, we had an adorable and jolly old man as our driver. I don't think I could of handled  the moody twenty year old again.

Weird pic taken that night ..

We then had a sleepover at my friends house and watched YouTube videos for the night, while modelling the stuff we bought. If your looking for a video that will have you in stitches, watch Brendon Uries Vines online. He is the lead singer of the band "Panic at the Disco" and he is just hilarious! We also opened a bottle of schloer champagne at Midnight (basically schloer that was sold in a champagne bottle.) Tasted like paint stripper but we still got enjoyment from opening the bottle!

Our non-alcoholic champagne..

Sorry if this blog post is a little random and long but I thought you'd get enjoyment from hearing about my stressful yet fun New Years Eve experience. It was chaotic but great craic! I like doing these sort of  life posts and may do more in the future. Also, I might do a blog post about the stuff I got. If you'd like to hear about that, please leave a comment below. Hope you enjoyed. Bye! x

Bold Lip Day

Have you ever woken up and just thought "Should I try something different with my make up today?" I realised when I woke up that I'm not going anywhere special, only my family will see me, why not just try something new? So I opted for a bold lipstick today. A tad out of my comfort zone but sure what the hell. I have tons of dark red lipsticks but rarely have time to actually wear them. I obviously can't wear red lips to school and sometimes I think I'll look like a freak wearing dark lips around town on a Saturday, as no other girls in my town do. When I get like this, I just think to myself, "Who cares?" I shouldn't have to worry about looking like a freak, if I'm comfortable with what I put on my face then it shouldn't bother anyone else. Right?

I usually wear a flick of liquid liner, lots of mascara and a pale cream eye-shadow with some dark tones blended into my crease. Probably with a nude lip. I really enjoy wearing dark lips when I'm going somewhere special or when I leave town. I wouldn't dare in my local area as I'd be worried of the looks I'd be getting. However, today I just went for it and wore a new lipstick I got for Christmas. And I love it! I really think it suits me and I'll be wearing it a lot more often. Life's to short to care what other people think.

The products I used on my face are :

  • Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory
  • Avon True Colour 6 in 1 Chic Glamour Eye-shadow Palette on my eyebrows
  • Rimmel London Eye-shadow in 140 Precious Rose
  • Avon True Colour Mocha Latte Eye-shadow Palette in my crease
  • Rimmel London Exaggerate Eye Liner
  • Maybelline New York "The Falsies" mascara
  • NYC Big Bold Curl mascara
  • Cosmetic Lasting Perfection Concealer
  • Rimmel London Stay Matte powder in 005 Silky Beige
  • Bourjois Bronzing Powder in 52
  • Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect as a highlighter in my tear-ducts and on my brow bone
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in 477 Black Cherry
Sorry if the photos are crappy, still getting used to taking pics of myself. This is currently what I use on my face everyday, normally without the dark lips though. I love this old fashioned dark lip with the flick of eyeliner. I actually ended up having to go into town after all and it was all fine .The world didn't impload! I was freaking out over nothing. If you ever get like this, like me, just remember at the end of the day do what makes you happy and don't spend your life worrying about what other people think.

Why can't it be called Rimmel Dublin?

One thing you guys should know about me is that one of my all time favourite make up brands is definitely Rimmel London. Their products are amazing quality and are so cheap! They also have loads of variety and their products can be bought anywhere. I was looking through my make up bag the other day and I realised some of my must-have, day-to-day make up products are Rimmel. Also, some of my first ever make up products were Rimmel. So I decided to share some of my favourite products with you.

From left to right in the above picture:

Rimmel London Exaggerate Eye Liner in 001 100% Black: - This liquid eyeliner is phenomenal. You really get your moneys worth as this eyeliner lasts so long. It is so well pigmented and goes on so easily. It is perfect for flicked/winged eyeliner.

Rimmel London "Wake Me Up" Foundation in 100 Ivory: - This foundation is one of my favourite foundations EVER. It has such good coverage without being too "cakey" and it gives a lovely, natural looking glow to the skin. The only downside to this foundation is that it can be a little sparkly, which means you may look a little like Edward Cullen  on a very sunny day. However, the foundation has so many other good qualities and  it leaves your skin looking flawless, even on the worst skin days.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 03: - In the last few months I have really gotten in to lipsticks, specifically, these Kate Moss ones. They are so moisturising and come in great selection of colours. My favourite for evening is 107 which is a deep berry red but for every day, I like to wear 03 which is a lovely nude colour. This colour can be worn for a subtle day time look or would be perfect with a smokey eye.

Rimmel London "Wake Me Up" Concealer in 010 Ivory - This concealer is obviously very similar to its foundation as they both are quite radiant. This concealer is  a miracle in the morning when you look like you're dead and you need something simple and quick to make you look less terrifying. It's great under neath your eyes as it literally makes you look wide awake and hides all traces of under eye bags or dark circles.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in 005 Silky Beige - This is the most amazing powder in the WORLD. I don't even no why. It's amazballs. This was my first ever powder and is the only powder I continue to go back to. It sets my foundation and makes my skin look flawless. Also it smells amazing. Just sayin'.

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer - I have these lip lacquers in the shades "Nude Eclipse" (obviously the nude one), "Luna" (the coral pink one) and "Big Bang" (the bright red one). I had never even heard of a "lacquer" until about 6 months ago. It's basically a lipstick in a liquid form, which makes them glossier than a lipstick and way more pigmented than a lipgloss. They're quite hard to apply until you get used to them but are really nice when they're blended out.

Rimmel London Eye Shadow in 140 Precious Rose - The other day I was looking for an eye shadow colour to replace the one I had in my "Mocha Latte" Avon palette as I had used it all up. This Rimmel eye shadow is luckily the exact same colour as the one in that palette. It is a very very VERY pale, almost white, pink. I say very pale because the pink is barely noticeable, which makes it the perfect base eye shadow as it's more of a skin colour than an unnatural looking white. You can wear it daily with a little mascara  or you can sweep it all over the lid. Either look is gorgeous.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading about the products I enjoy using and hopefully you saw something you liked! Please leave a comment below telling me about your favourite beauty products, Rimmel or not, just because I'm nosy like that! bye xx
